Bye Bye Opti

Full Name: Optimus Prime Price
Born: unknown
Time of death: 12:15 A.M. June 23, 2008
Cause of death: unknown
After being a part of our family for 8 months, Opti passed away by an unknown cause and was flushed early Monday morning. He was a very lively fish. Dave taught him how to jump out the water and kept him active chasing after the picture on his beta food bottle. He moved and traveled across 4 states with us on our trek out to St. Louis, Missouri. He saw more than most beta fish, I would say. He will always be remembered and greatly missed by many who witnessed his acrobatics but especially by Dave and Rachel Price.

The Ups and Downs of Vacationing

Being back home I was able to see a lot of friends, hang out with my fam a lot (in-laws too) which was great! I was there for Father's Day. And I was able to continue a tradition with my friends dancing for Alli's wedding! Woot woot! Here it goes: ENJOY!

So I headed for my trip to Salt Lake Wednesday the 11th. I had a layover in Denver for an hour and then I'd be to Salt Lake at 11:30 that night and I'd go back to my parents and fall right asleep. Well it didn't quite happen as smoothly as thought. Jess and Amber took me to the airport and we talked about how when you fly alone you always get the dead center seats and its so awkward...well yep you guessed it both plane rides there I had dead center. Didn't know where I could put my elbows, hands, head, etc. I always forget about how much I do not like the airport til I get in there, especially when I am alone. This time I tried so hard not to let it ruin my time away from work. When I arrived in Denver I had to switch airlines for my next plane and the other airlines was in another concourse so i had to take a train there. I had been talking to Kara about dramas of the shower that we'd be throwing for Alli the next night, grabbed some food and then ran on my way to catch a train to the next concourse while still talking to Kara. I saw a train about to leave so I hurried down the escalator to catch it and jumped on. When we arrived I went up the escalator only to find that I had gotten on the wrong train and had put myself in a stressful situation. I was at baggage claim! Out of the airport with no boarding pass to get me through security again! I started panicing a bit and an airport worker was no help at all (of course) and I had to hang up on Kara (sorry). Luckily a thought that I could recheck in at the airlines counter again came to my head. But where was I going to find that counter? The Denver airport is quite large in size and I think I have been there once before but in my childhood. I finally found it and then at the very end of the hall was a few workers. My plane was late (kinda a good thing but not at the same time). The plane ended up being over an hour late leaving so I didn't get back to Salt Lake til 12:20ish. I was so pooped! I went to the baggage carousel and found one bag pretty quickly and figured once the carousel had stopped my other bag was not going to be in my hands that night:( and yes it was left back in Denver. The most important bag. The one with everything I needed that night of course. The flight back to St. Louis was on one of those dinky little skywest planes. Dave came to pick me up and all I wanted to do was see him and we were in two different places trying to find each other. It all got pretty frustrating so the first hello back was not as good as planned. :)

Alli's Bachelorette Fiesta!

The trip home was great though! I left Dave behind to go see another friend get married! I was stoked for her and so happy I got a chance to go. It was a little stressful to leave the job behind in Dave's hands. 1 because he had to do two jobs and 2 because my job consists of a lot of things to do and I was worried. Well I guessed it, Dave was stressed most days, but I guess he understands my complaints of this job now. He also called me one night while walking around outside...yes he was locked out of our apartment and didn't remember where he had placed the keys. Oh silly boy. Well he called me about 30 minutes later saying I quote, "AND THAT IS WHY THEY CALL ME MR. DAVE." My response: "Oh no, what'd you do?" It's just the way his mind works. He had climbed up balconies to get to our 3rd story apartment...our door was locked so he popped off a screen of a window that was unlatched and wiggled his way in...so glad that no one called the cops on him.

Alli is a married woman now! Back off!
Well I am back to busy, busy, busy and my husband is alive!

We made it a year!

Here we are 1 year ago on the cold rainy day of June 6, 2007. I was informed it wasn't much of a better day this year around by my mom. Here in St. Louis we had tornado sirens going off all over St. Louis...yeah Dave called me up a little freaked a couple times. He also kept saying happy anniversary and I love you just in case:) Luckily it wasn't fatal!!!

Well we made it 1 whole year married and we continue on the journey everyone seems to call life. I can't even believe that it has only been a year. With all of the things we have done, experienced, lived, etc. in 1 year together, I am a little worried of what the future has in store for us. We've sure been blessed! And our anniversary reassured me that I am the Luckiest (he he, it's the title of our song, cheesy I know) girl in this world! I could go on and on about why and anyone who would try to top it I bet I could fight back with more:)

Well there are a lot of pictures, I know, but we had such and amazing weeked anniversary celebration that I want to show and tell as much as can get away with.

Dave first surprised me with a Dave's Original handmade card in the morning. It was perfect!

He then made us chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream swirled on top! Our Favorite! (I took the picture prior to the whip cream swirled on top.)
He then took me for a walk along the Missouri River because I love walks and we never go on them cause he has to walk all day everyday (which I totally understand). Isn't he great!
That night we went to dinner at a great little restaurant on the historic main street here in St. Charles and sat on the patio. I am not putting the picture up of that because the waiter took a horrible picture of us right when I was turning to look at the camera. he did say he majored in pouring water and not photography, he sure was right.
What else to do then go bowling on your first anniversary? The funny thing is with the way I love bowling, Dave and I have never been bowling together...so we were in for a treat!
Ha this was a great moment. We both had never seen this before! The 2 corner and the dead center pin all standing alone...weird.
Well here we were 1 year ago doing the traditional smashing the cake in the face ritual. he he
Here is our cake 1 year later...were we about to endure the same pains as Jon and Julie?
Well it's in our bellies now...and guess what! We didn't get sick and it was actually so scrumptous I can't wait to have more!
We wanted to spend some more quality time together so we reserved Sunday as the day. We went to the St. Louis Zoo (which is free and it was huge). It was scorching hot and extremely humid! but I endured and it made Dave oh so happy. This bear had a really ugly face but then it stuck its tounge out and we loved it. He was very lively.
Our skin couldn't have been glistening anymore!
So as I said above it was super hot and humid. Every animal we saw was found wherever there was shade in their cages. It was so funny cause they were all doing anything to hide from the sun. Even pile on top of each other. This ape was laying out...in the shade.Dave made friends with a bird. This is where we got our R & R for the night. The Raines Victorian Inn. It was such a great place! We stayed in the Lady Emily Suite. We loved every minute of the stay!

The breakfast was devine too! Thanks Ruth! Thanks Dave for being a great husband!

Our First Major League Baseball Game

We arrived to the heart of downtown St. Louis and saw this gigantic lit stadium. It was huge! I can say that cause we had to walk around it about 10 times trying to find people and such. The size of it even had me all turned around. There was even a casino and bar in this place. I never knew what direction I was heading. We had the craziest experience though. We were with Anthony and Amber searching for tickets. We had walked around for awhile when Anthony stopped a guy that was walking near us saying, "We brought our wives down here to see a game, do you know where we could get some tickets?" The guy then asked, "How many do you need?" Anthony said, "four." I guess then the guy just said, "here you go," ans handed Anthony an envelope and walked away. On the envelope it said enjoy and inside there were 4 tickets and 4 coupons for a hot dog and a drink. It was the craziest thing. We decided we were being watched over. It rained from the time we entered the stadium to the end of the 7th inning! Luckily we had the seats up high where you are covered. It was a very wet and humid game to sit through but all of it was free (except for parking but no biggie). (This picture is a little dark of us.)

After it had stopped raining we were able to go down right behind home plate to watch the game. The stadium was pretty empty by this time one, because of the rain and two, because the Cardinals were getting their tushies kicked. Sorry Puck!
All in all it was fun to see a major league game in real life!
