After a long two weeks of Gladiator, we were ready for a break so...we took one! We decided to use our day off and see St. Louis!!! Dave loved the Gateway Arch. He couldn't take enough pictures of it. We have a shot from every angle but I picked out the best ones to spare you all:) My favorite is the one above. He took it while we were lounging on the grass under the trees. It was a perfect day of R-n-R for sure! We walked down to the great Mississippi and Dave tried to get me to dare him to swim acrossed it but then when he saw how fast it moved he second guessed himself. We also went to the St. Louis Union Station but they've turned it mostly into shops and restaurants but it was still fun because we were able to sign our name and where we were from in a traveling record book like they kept in the olden days.

( Don't you think he looks so good in yellow?!?)
I decided I need to be more specific when asking people to take pictures of us. You can barely see us! :)
My hair doesn't do its best in humidity:( And it's dark again, if ya can't tell!

Ok so above is the evidence of how bad the flooding was here. It came all the way over the street, up above the grass line. The Arch is right aboe this grass. Crazy huh?!?
And below shows that the water is still high. Do you see the statue of Louis and Clark??? HA HA. I loved this!

This was a cool bridge that led to Illinois right where the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers meet. We were so excited to stand at that point but the road to get there was closed due to flooding. The dang floods ruin everything;) but we got to see this cool bridge.

A Little Blab on Blog

Not a whole lot has happened since our last blog so I've decided to just blab... To all of those that miss us so dearly and need us back in their lives, you do not have to fret much longer! We will be back to the great state of Utah in a month! Still not quite sure what day we'll be back and we probably won't know until the last second but it will be around the month mark from today. Although we have had some good times out here, we are sure happy to get back home! We've decided we are both Wasatch front loving people and we've been away from it for too long. We'll be more than ready for fun! Camping, Lake Powell, St. George, Park City...wherever you people want to go WE"LL BE THERE!

Just to update all of you on our lives out here in St. Louis, here are a few things that have been going on. This last week and the week ahead are what they call Gladiator week in the company. These two weeks are full of challenges and prizes. the guys in our office are put into three teams and compete in challenges such as selling the most, wheel barrow races, sign throwing contests, arcade games and much more. The ones with the most points at the end of each day win prizes and the ones at the end of the week win a big pot of money! Dave's team was so so close to winning the pot last week but in the end didn't quite have enough points. Dave had his best week selling out here of the summer and he was even number 25 in the company for his good week (which there are about 750 to 1000 salesmen). I am so proud of him! We hope this week will end in a much better result -the pot of money! Our office broke there record again too this last week by 24 so it gave me a lot more work as well. The weather out here is torturous! I feel so bad for Dave! It is very very hot and add the humidity on top and you get a husband walking in the front door at the end of a long day drenched...in sweat. Poor little guy! The weather is another factor of why we miss Utah! We miss the dry heat:) which is kinda weird but its true. We saw The Dark Knight on Saturday and we enjoyed it. I can't believe Heath Ledger was Joker, he played it so so well. I don't think people can really blame him for taking all those pills. I would never imagine him in a role like that. This summer we also have gotten into the tv series Lost (thanks to Jess) and we are so hooked! We are in the 3rd season and it makes me so so mad to watch but I was told that this season does that to you and the 4th is really good so I can't wait to get thorugh season 3! Well there ya go

OUCH! Where's the Aloe????

Just take a look at the skin right above his skivies and the difference between that and his back. Poor, poor Dave:( Well here's the story. On one of his longer bike rides the other day he decided he needed some sun, ya know to get rid of those farmer tans. Well what he forgot was that his skin burns fairly easily and no he didn't have any sunscreen on. He said for about half his ride he had his shirt off...that night he came home from work and ripped his shirt off and this is what we saw. Not quite the result he was hoping for. We haven't stopped with the aloe since.

Tim, Kenny & Fireworks

BBQ-ing it up with the girls.

Well our fourth celebrations started early because of the whole holidays are the best work days out here in the sells business. We had a little bbq out at the pool here on Wednesday. There was a lot of good food and fun. We also got an ear full from one of the head ladies here at our apartment complex pretty much about everything of anger she had built up inside over the littlest things. She came out and just started rampaging on us about everything (seriously). Then later on one of the boys hopped a fence right in front of her office window and she stormed out a second time going off again...and yes about everything again. The second time we just all sat there in embarrassment for her. It was completely uncalled for but it made our next conversations interesting.

Dave and I at the Tim Mcgraw concert

Jess and I

For the real 4th, Dave had to start work at 9 am but was able to get off around 7 that night so we could enjoy some of the 4th's festivities. We were so blessed to be able to go to a Tim Mcgraw concert!!! And tickets weren't $60 and up like in Utah. I was stoked. We went with Puck and Jess. The amphitheater was just like Usana so we had grass seats and were able to sit on the grass a lot and just chill. Don't worry we got a lot of crazy dancing in of Puck and Dave pullin some moves I had never seen pulled to country music but it made it that much better. Well about halfway through the concert Kenny Chesney hopped on stage! It was great! No one has a clue why he was there, cause I know he was in New York earlier that day doing the Today show but it made the show even better. After the concert there were fireworks and it turned out to be a pretty good firework show. Nothing like Stadium of Fire last year but it gave us our fix for fireworks. Although St Louis doesn't have a 24th of July day like Utah, they still have fireworks the whole month of July all over. So we see them all the time near and far from us (the whole no mountain thing helps us see really far ones). That's our 4th.
