Tennis Marathon Week

I played tennis matches Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 3 in the blistering heat Saturday. It was a lot of tennis and a lot of sun! I now have some wicked tan lines and some nasty blisters on my feet! I made sure I played as hard as I could each match, but it left me with painful feet and sore body! I limped off the court after my last match yesterday. Luckily, I have a team full of the sweetest ladies and they took such good care of me! Our team took 2nd in the tournament we played in. My record for the week was 4-2, so I feel pretty good about that. Saturday, my matches were long but I pulled out 2 and lost the last one.

I got home late last night with an empty belly, so Dave took me to Burger Bar and I indulged in a Big Ben and even a large coke from the gas station! What?!? Rachel's drinking pop? Yes, siree! I deserve it dang it! After 7 hours on the court playing singles in 100 degree heat (on the tennis court it is usually 10 degrees hotter) and with blisters covering my feet and aches all over my body, I deserve it!

Dave had to take a picture of my hair. It was full of salt crystals. My body was covered in them too even though I rinsed off right before my 3rd match. All the white and dandruff looking stuff is salt. Yuck!
Your lucky he didn't take a picture of my blisters.

The Year of the Spoon Trainers

This last weekend, we participated in the Wasatch Back Ragnar. It is a 197 mile running relay from Logan, Utah to Park City, Utah. Team members: Dave, Rachel, Michael and Jon Price, Brittany, Cris, Ryan, Bridget, and Dale Fowers, Brittney Barrett and Jeremy Neff. Our team finished it in 31 hours and 27 minutes. At this moment, I say I'm not going to do it again but I know the others are already planning for next year, so we'll see.

As you can see in the pictures, we had a great time. There will be more pictures to come! These are the ones I took from our van, van 2. There weren't many pictures taken through the night because most of us stayed in the car due to cold and sleepiness.

Goldilocks Ride

Bridget and I did an early season, women-only ride May 12. It's taken me awhile to go through these pictures and post them. We rode the 80 miler and took it on as a timed race, even though it was more of a low key ride. We made it a goal to push it and do our best. Consequently, we lost count of our kills (the times you pass someone) pretty quick. We never were passed and even caught up to the 100 miler riders and passed most of them. We finished in 4 hours and 40 minutes. We both felt great after and Dave and Ryan were jealous, because they don't know what it's like to feel good after a race. Bridget made the comment, "if you didn't only do races that were 200 miles, you might be able to." Ha, it's so true. Bridget and I were much more pleasant than the boys are after Lotoja. Come to think of it, Bridget and I were much more pleasant after we did Lotoja 2 years ago.

The race was a lot of fun! We couldn't have asked for a better day. They began the ride with serving porridge (oatmeal) and the stops for fully stocked with good snacks. They had a lunch stop and then lunch at the end again. Since we took it a little more seriously, we didn't partake in as much food as we could have. We only made two quick stops in the 80 miles we did. You couldn't eat as much food as they gave if you wanted to feel okay riding.

Oreo topped with peanut butter....I WOULD NEVER DO THIS  ON AN ORDINARY DAY, but for  the energy and Dave's sake, I did it! I made them get footage and proof of it.

Sunny came to see us finish. Thanks!

5 YEARS!

Island Park Anniversary

This last weekend, we took off for Island Park and stayed in this adorable little cabin, just the two of us! We had such a good time! The cabin had 1 bedroom and a loft with beds, it had a kitchenette, fireplace, grill and a private 2-person hot tub. I am so happy that Dave found this place! It was the perfect way to celebrate our fifth!
We arrived Thursday evening and began making it our home for the weekend. We grilled some steaks and made cheesy potatoes on our griddle. We spent an hour or so in the hot tub that night, too.

Friday, we woke up early and rented a Razr for the day. It wasn't very warm but we were hoping it would somewhat warm up and the sun would come up. We were wrong. It stayed pretty chilly the entire day. The sun peeked out for maybe 30 minutes of our 8 hours of being on the Razr. I thought I'd be fine in a couple layers on top. I was wrong! Although we had a blast, I was frozen. My whole body was tired from shivering the whole morning. At lunch, we rode back to our car and cranked up the eat while we ate. Then we decided to go load up on layers of clothes because that's all we could do. We didn't bring any coats or gloves like we really needed. We're glad we went Friday though because it rained and snowed the rest of the weekend. Can I say, thank goodness for the hot tub and fireplace!

Dave mentioned here that the one thing we didn't do was just sit and enjoy the quiet somewhere along our playing on the Razr. It's just like us to not stop and smell the roses. We just kept going and playing, but we enjoyed ourselves other than the cold.
Saturday, we slept in and then went for a big run up by Henry's Lake. Ragnar is next week! On the run back to our car, Dave said, "I'm sorry but I have hostile feelings towards you right now." Which is funny because he was the one who mentioned how far we should go but after I agreed, he wanted to take it back. We got back to the cabin and jumped in the hot tub. After about 20 minutes of sitting in there, it started snowing! The snow wasn't enough to make much of an impact but it was funny to get snowed on but still be warm. That night we went to West Yellowstone. The wind picked up and so we didn't stay long. We just walked around a bit and ate at a pizza place.

Sunday, we woke up to snow.

Half a Decade!

On a very wet day 5 years ago today,

we were married in this beautiful temple for time and eternity.
This has become one of my favorite places and

I am the luckiest to have shared my favorite moment in there with this man.
I love everything about this man and I love being married to him! He is the sunshine in my life.
