Finally Get to Spread the News

Their has been too much going on in our lives to fit all in one post since I've been slacking the last while on updating. We've been prepping our home to sale, and it's now for sale (AHHH!). We've been trying to get our home started...I hoping by mid-June! At the end of March, I was called to be the Young Women President in our ward. I'm playing on 3 tennis teams and the leagues all started last week. And I am now 15 weeks pregnant with our very own first munchkin! I keep thinking my life is already insanely busy, but it just seems to get worse. Not in a bad way, but I just can't believe how busy I am and I don't even have the baby yet! I know I'm in for it so you don't have to tell me, "Just wait!" I've heard it plenty.

Dave and I are coming up on our 6th wedding anniversary, which is crazy in itself! Many say, "You waited awhile." In reality, it wasn't our complete choice to wait this long. Those that know us, knew we didn't want kids for a good while but that didn't mean we didn't want them at all. Like I've said in recent years on this blog and to many people, we knew we weren't ready and we wanted time to build a foundation below us financially and relationship wise. I can say it's been a wonderful experience together, but about 2 1/2 years ago we were finally getting the itch for kids. As many know, your will is not always God's and it's been a trying 2 1/2 years, but the cool thing is that we didn't give up, even though many times I wanted to. I saw many doctors and have been through many tests. One of Dave's blessings last year told me to listen closely to my doctor's counsel and at that point my view of doctors was quite low (actually I've always struggled with doctors, but it was lower for sure). My gynecologist found a lump on my thyroid late last summer so he referred me to an endocrinologist. After seeing him for a few times, they found the lump to be benign (thankfully) but he suggested that I slow down on my physical activity and maybe gain a little weight. And those that know, that is the worst thing you could make me do! :) After many prayers, I knew that's what I needed to do (because I needed to prove to my Heavenly Father I could follow his will and make a sacrifice). It sounds so stupid probably. I made the choice to follow that doctor's counsel. Then some more cool things happened in the following two months that didn't happen "spontaneously" like one doctor put it, but I know they happened because they were suppose to happen! After my visit with the fertility doctor, it was the longest month and a half! And then, I wouldn't take a pregnancy test until the day my doctor suggests to take it because I was so scared to see one more negative! I ended up taking the test late that night of day 35 because I couldn't sleep. When I woke Dave up to tell him, he was very confused at first but then once he became coherent, we hugged forever. I am very grateful for the trials I have gone through and I know there will be plenty more in my life. I am a stronger person than I have ever been and I am thankful that I've been given so much! I pray for those dealing with the same or worse trials.

We are due November 3, 2013!

Some of the fun ways we announced our big news to family and friends
Our House Plans. This is how we announced to our parents.
.
Our announcement to those a bit further away.

How we announced to close friends and Dave's siblings.
For my young women, I put a Baby Ruth on their chair before they came in one Sunday and it said Baby "Price" November 3, 2013. It took some of them a minute.

When I announced it to my kiddos at school, I made them play a game to see who could unscramble the messed up words  that said, "Mrs. Price is going to have a baby!" They treated it like a test and it was hilarious. They used folders to cover their answers and when they solved the puzzle they weren't allowed to say ANYTHING until I revealed the right answer. The looks on their faces said it all! It took all their will power to keep it quiet when others will still trying to figure it out. The reaction was better than I hoped for from them. Once I revealed the answer, they screamed and cheered. Then they all started coming up to me and asking questions like, "What are you having?" "Will you be a teacher still?" "Why aren't you getting fat?" "Can my mom come to your baby shower?" Ha, it was hilarious!

Yes, I had fun announcing our pregnancy. All of the reactions have been so fun too! We have some on video and some ingrained in our minds.

Here's our giant gummy bear at 12 weeks!
