My Quarter-of-a-Century Birthday

AHH! I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? I NEED IT TO STOP!! I am now 25 and a few days and it feels like last month I was in college and last year just in high school...it is the weirdest thing and I'm not handling it well on the inside. On the outside, I am playing it cooland shrugging it off but I don't know what else to do. I can't stop time or even slow it down so I just have to grit my teeth and go with it. Each day turns into what feels like an hour and it all is beginning to mesh together. At school, time goes a mile a minute and trying to fit all that needs to be fit in is the toughest part of the job at the moment. I am loving life but want it to slow down!

My 25th birthday was great! Sunday, we celebrated with my family down at my parents. We had dinner and relaxed. Later, we set up an ice cream, cake and cookie bar. Yum! Yum! I'm usually not a fan of cake but Dave woke up Sunday morning and decided to bake a cake and it was divine! I couldn't stop eating it. I also packed my tummy with what I believe is the best cookie in the world and lots of ice cream and caramel. I was in a sugar coma the rest of the night.

Monday, I was able to leave work as soon as I was allowed feeling good about the day (my kids were great that day) and leaving all the work behind to unfortunately come back to the next but until then I wouldn't think of it. I got home to a wonderfully cleaned house and wrapped gifts on the kitchen table. I got open one, which was a ribbon to tie around my eyes (it wasn't wide enough to cover my sight so I just closed my eyes) and follow Dave...to my closet. It was a long mirror with a dry erase marker even. I also got some mullah to spend on a new purse or tennis bag, and a pizza baking stone! We decided to go to ABC Mandarin because I've been wanting to try it forever. It was the perfect choice! So, so yummy and our waitress was super nice and a cute girl! They brought out this cute dessert with a candle and even sang happy birthday to me! I thought they'd do it in Chinese but it was in English, but still, when do you ever hear people getting sung to at a Chinese restaurant?? I loved it! We went to the mall to see if I could spend any of my mullah and then went home for a night of relaxation and cake, cookies and ice cream :) I can't tell you enough how yummy Dave's cake was. Once I started, I couldn't stop!

Deer Valley

We got to enjoy a nice relaxing, conference weekend in Deer Valley with my fam. The fall colors were already out and we couldn't have asked for more gorgeous weather. It was mid 70s all weekend long.

Friday, we hopped in the hot tub and it about put me to sleep. We were in bed pretty soon after that. Saturday, we woke up to Kaitlin ready to take our order for breakfast and be our waitress, and then we made our Halloween sugar cookies while watching conference and about got sick off of the cookie dough and finished cookies. My mom and I had a tennis match at 1:00 at the racquet club up there and we got to play doubles together. We won! Michael came up later and met Dave for priesthood while my mom and I went to try out a little Mexican joint for dinner. We got in some more relaxing that night while watching Thor with the whole fam in the condo.

Sunday, was great too. We woke up and went for a walk and then came back to anxious girls who wanted to serve and make our breakfast again. We got to enjoy conference and in between sessions, we drove to the top of Deer Valley Resort and hiked around for a bit. We barbecued that afternoon. It was yummy! Unfortunately, we headed home shortly after that. It was so so hard to leave and think about what lied in the week ahead. It was wonderful while it lasted though.

Beautiful fall colors!
