Little Red Women Only Ride 2013

This ride was last Saturday, June 1 so I'm a little late. When I signed up for this race, I wasn't thinking I'd ever get prego, but then found out a couple months later I was wrong! Trying to get in the training miles for this ride was quite difficult! I was exhausted and felt so crumby for weeks and weeks and then the wind  and temperatures this spring weren't in a cyclist's favor! But I did it and I rode a strong 50 miles being 18 weeks pregnant. I finished in exactly 3 hours with an average of 16.5 mph. It's not my best, but it's great for the circumstances! I felt great about it. For the first half, I was able to ride with my sister-in-law, Bridget, her cousin, Nina (25 weeks prego) and my ELED buddy, Morgan. It turned out to be a beautiful day and I even ended up getting quite red on my arms and upper legs! I never burn! I guess it could be the pregnancy cause then I burned from tennis this last week, too.

I'm hoping I can still ride for at least another month or so before my belly gets too big! Thanks to my wonderful better half for getting me into this sport and for being the cutest and best support! He always drives the course and cheers and stops to assist in any way. The women I am riding with at the time always comment about how sweet he is and they're right!

At the start. Bridget was so nervous being with two pregos!
