We left for St. George Thursday late evening, yes in the storm. From Fillmore on it was horrible! Poor David had to tensely drive through the crazy blizzardy Central Utah and then, when we got to Leeds (right before St. George) the wind gusts were horrific! Pictured below id Dave's car the morning after. My poor bike got pounded too!
It was so nice to take a day off, my first of the school year. My kids were sad when I told them I wouldn't be there Friday which made me feel a little warm inside but I needed it! Even as I was doing a treacherous trail run with Bridget, I was still happier where I was for that day.
The trip was a blast! The only downside was that Sunny and Mike couldn't make it because of illness, so we missed them. For once, time didn't just whiz on by like it usually does when you're having fun and WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, there's no doubt about that! We were able to fit a lot of activities in even with sleeping in and with the size of group we had. We got to do some new things too, which I always love. St. George is full of endless possibilities! We were very active and because of that, we all ate SO MUCH FOOD! Well, I know I did and the only time I regretted it was the following mornings when my tummy hurt. And because of all the food, the house got quite unbearable at times (I won't name names but it was so bad!). The trip was all around wonderful!
